FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

Thank you for your interest in volunteering.

Hopefully we can answer any questions you may have in this section. However, please feel free to contact us for further information or to register your interest.

What is the application process?

Once you get in touch with us, you will be required to complete an application form and a criminal convictions from. You will then be invited for an informal chat. At this point you will need to provide 2 references and a PVG membership will be applied for. 

Is there any age limits?

Anyone older than 16 years old is able to volunteer within our organisation. If you are younger than 18 we do ask that your parent or guardian gives permission for you to become a volunteer with us.

What support will i receive?

Our Volunteer Coordinator Gillian will be the dedicated person to support and help you in your role, however all the staff and volunteers are here to support you.

Will I receive any training?

All volunteers must complete their child protection training. When staff are having training sessions, you will also be invited to attend these. There is also a budget for volunteers to receive any other relevant training.

Will it cost me anything to become a volunteer?

No. As you are giving up your time we shall cover your travel expenses and if you are doing two or more sessions, we shall provide lunch and a drink for you too. 

What will I wear?

As part of our team, you will be provided with a uniform to wear whilst you are volunteering. This includes a '3D Drumchapel' t-shirt and jumper (if required),

Will I be insured?

Yes, as you are part of our team you shall be covered by our insurance policies for any activities you undertake whilst you are volunteering here with us.

I am receiving benefits, can i volunteer?

Yes, the regulations on benefits state that you can claim and also volunteer.
